This is what life looks like inside San Francisco's poshest condo buildings

Saline swimming pools, climbing walls, spa rooms, 24/7 valet, fitness centers, rooftop barbecues, and prize-winning architecture? Yes, please.

If you're ready to buy your own home but don't want to sacrifice the ease and amenities of apartment living, San Francisco's swell of luxury high-rise condos have all the creature comforts and then some. Gather your millions and take a look inside some of the city's poshest new condo buildings.

Soaring 618 feet into the San Francisco skyline, the sculpted glass Avery tower is home to tony two- and three-bedroom condominiums, all bathed in natural light and panoramic city and Bay views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Designed by Rem Koolhaas' Pritzker Prize-winning firm Office of Metropolitan Architecture(OMA) along with Clodagh Design, floor plans have an eco-conscious aesthetic and exude a sense of serenity and wellness. Expect gourmet kitchens with wine storage; spa-inspired bathrooms clad in warm wood and cool marble; polished chrome Dornbracht fixtures; custom oak cabinetry; mosaic tiles. On floors 53 and 56, the penthouses are extra opulent with stone fireplaces, great rooms, formal dining spaces, master suites with dual walk-in closets and soaking tubs; and some even have rooftop patios. Whether you're on top of the world or live on a lower floor, you'll have access to valet parking, the gym, pool, entertainment lounges, and an attended private lobby.

Location: 488 Folsom St. (Rincon Hill)

Size: 900-2,200 sq. ft.
Bedrooms: 2-3

Bathrooms: 2.5

Asking price: High $1 million to high $3 million

181 Fremont

Calling itself one of the most structurally resilient buildings in the nation, 181 Fremont's foundation is drilled 260 feet to bedrock with a state-of-the-art exoskeleton structure that can withstand an 8.4 seismic event with no structural damage (when can we move in?)—good to know considering the condos cost over $4 million.

But the interior is as artful as a day at The Met, with full-slab Calacatta and Carrara marble walls, French oak floors, lofty windows, and endless designer details courtesy of architect Jeffrey Heller. A sailing aficionado, Heller's building evokes dozens of ship masts braced together on the exterior; inside, he conjures the natural rhythms of water through the seamless transitions of frameless doorways and no molding throughout.

Posh accoutrements include custom-forged, Parisian brass hardware; Valcucine glass cabinets and Brazilian white macaubas quartzite countertops in the kitchens (some of which can be hidden behind ebonized oak sliding panels); fully-integrated entertainment systems in the master bedrooms; and freestanding soaking tubs, heated marble floors, Ann Sacks pebble floors, and Toto and Duravit fixtures in the master baths.

The building also has direct access from its seventh floor to the 5.4-acre Salesforce Transit Center Park; a gorgeous lobby designed by Orlando Diaz-Azcuy; a wraparound observation terrace; fitness center with yoga room; and a library—oh, and service staff and a concierge for anything else you might desire.

Location: 181 Fremont (FiDi)

Size: 1,262-6,941 sq. ft.

Bedrooms: 2-4

Bathrooms: 2-6.5

Asking price: $3.25 million to $46 million

If downtown's not your scene and it's something more approachable you seek, consider the Richmond's Alexandria, a collection of 43 studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos.

More reasonably priced and cozier than the buildings above, The Alexandria has a range of apartment homes with floor plans, expansive windows, and hardwood floors. In the kitchens and bathrooms, there are Porcelanosa cabinets, Hansgrohe fixtures, and stone countertops for a sleek, polished look. For those seeking personalized decor, there's also an option to customize finishes—as well as smart home automation packages—through a curated, in-house design center. When you tire of the comforts of the building, grab your bike from the racks in the secured garage, or take a seat on the deck in the courtyard.

Location: 369 18th Ave. (Outer Richmond)

Size: 619-1,328 sq. ft.

Bedrooms: 1-3

Bathrooms: 1-2

Asking price: Starting at $999,000 to $1,180,000
